Join the Movement: #Run4Children and #Run4Inclusion!
Meet Arman, an 8-year-old with dreams as big as the sky. But why has he never experienced the joy of school? Because like many incredible Children with Disabilities, he faces hurdles that most of us can't imagine. From inaccessible urban slums to a hesitant education system, the odds seem stacked against him. But together, we can change that!
His parents discovered ASTHA during one of our community awareness meetings. Our team of educators and social workers did a detailed assessment and counseling sessions with Arman’s mother on accepting his disability and understanding his needs. Arman’s mother attended parent meetings where she met other parents like her. These meetings gave her hope and confidence to cope with her child.
Did you know that only 1 in 4 children with disabilities aged 5 gets to step into a classroom? Let's rewrite this statistic! Introducing ASTHA's unstoppable Champions with Disabilities, gearing up for the Delhi Half Marathon! They're running to break barriers, create change, and make education accessible for 100 incredible Children with Disabilities.

ASTHA is a community-based disability organization working with Children and Persons with Disabilities in urban slums and resettlement colonies of Delhi and in neighboring states. We run 7 centres in the heart of Delhi's slums to ensure they go to schools and have opportunities to study just like all other children. The centres work on early childhood care and development, inclusive education and life skills for children with disabilities, often coming from vulnerable economic settings.
The organization runs an Information and Disability Resource Centre. It works on publications and training module development, training programmes, and initiatives on disability and has an accessible resource centre library. Our National Disability Helpline reaches out to nearly 4000 persons with disabilities every year.
