MY APPEAL

Foundation for Equal Citizenship(FFEC) is raising funds for its Early Childhood Development project, Buniyaad.

The first 1,000 days of a new born, beginning in the mother's womb are critical for physical and brain development. The health and nutrition of a mother is extremely important for this.

Support us in our mission to offer a healthier, happier and productive future for children from under privileged backgrounds and migrant parents. Help us meet the government's goal to reduce malnutrition and hence stunting, under-weight and wasting through the POSHAN programme.

Why?
32% children below 5 years are stunted, 22% underweight and 11% wasted in urban slums like Trilokpuri in Delhi, India.
Around 25% of Indian women of reproductive age suffer from under-nutrition and are likely to give birth to undernourished babies, leading to an inter-generational cycle of undernourishment.

How?
A comprehensive approach to address this problem through:
-Weight and height monitoring during the first 1000 days of babies using a digital app
-Conducting educational training about best practices to mothers and pregnant women through videos and content produced by nutrition experts
-Fun activities and classes on how to incorporate nutritious food in their diets within their budget
-Include fathers in some these sessions and bring about sustainable behavioral changes

RAISING FUNDS FOR

Foundation for Equal Citizenship
Foundation for Equal Citizenship (FFEC) is proud to be invited by United Way to participate in the prestigious Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon (VDHM)! We need your support to make this a successful event for us. Please donate, participate or create your own page to raise funds for our cause. Together we can create a better future for children.

FFEC is a grassroots organization that works on empowerment of marginalized communities, particularly children, women and youth. We believe empowering them can bring about significant long term change in their community. This is a holistic approach for an overall development of a child, starting when it is in the womb up to going to college.

We provide knowledge of health and nutrition to women starting with pregnancy. We also work with adolescent girls on menstrual health and on education for children and youth.

Our Kadam Learning Centre runs daily after-school sessions to develop interest in learning, reduce dropout rates, improve Math and reading skills and prepare for board exams.

We work primarily in the slums of Trilokpuri in East Delhi.

MY SUPPORTERS

A big thank you to all those who have donated on this page.
